THE BEST 30 YEAR REUNION EVER
If you missed it, you reeeeaaallly did miss it. If you were there, you made it great.
We want to thank everyone for making the time and money commitment to come to the reunion and making it a wonderful event.
A Few Thank You's First
First and foremost, THANK YOU AGAIN to our sponsors.
Lynn Roberts Warren and Karen Curtis (both MHS '71) volunteered to help with registration on Friday night, and we thank them very much.
Kelly Davis (MHS '87), Krystal Mince (MHS '94), Kalen Davis (MHS '95) and Kasey Davis (MHS '97) volunteered Saturday night, and again, we wish to thank them for all their help and their tips on the new dancing styles.
Kristi Klahr (MHS '97) made our 10 giant spirit ribbons and our 3 Charley Charger horses. She really made the "hangar" a fun decorated party place and proceeded to dance with the best.
A special thank you to David Lee for building our time tunnel and his wife Sandi Walker Lee for helping with registration Saturday night.
And to Greg "Rob" Robinson for making our wonderful name tags with our Senior Class pictures. We did decide for our 40 year reunion, we'll need large placards around our necks so we can read names without our glasses.
Now to the Fun Stuff
A few of our classmates brought their grown sons and daughters (George Defenbaugh & son, John, & Mary Eaton Nowkhah and daughter, Layla). Both good lookin' kids that we were trying to fix up together, but, alas, both are already spoken for. We were thrilled to meet them and flattered that they would want to come.
The Boogie Boy's Band was fabulous on Saturday, and we even had a few guys "gator" AND they were able to get up. We're impressed!!!! Dr. Christy Coglizer should have had her business cards to hand out for back adjustments on Monday.
People came from all over the US. Here are a few: Randall England, Los Angeles; Kay Metsker, Olympia, WA; Susan Milton, Orleans, MA; Tom Meason & Susan Kleinwachter Meason, Grand Junction, CO; Carl Fair, South Lake Tahoe, CA; Pam (now Bentley) DeVore, Las Vegas, NV; Sharon McNeil-Medina, OH; David Oberstein, Santa Fe, NM, and Lee Hawks, Key West, FL.
AND
We had a few international alumni that made the reunion: Poppy (now Christine) Maxwell - Singapore and Mary Berard Rubin - Tokyo. Way to go, weary travelers.
Linda Phillips Ashour coordinated her nationwide book tour to make her stop in Tulsa during the reunion. Simon & Schuster is publishing her 4th book, and she had a book signing on Saturday and invited the entire class to come (& of course, buy a book!) We appreciate her making the effort and the scheduling to be here. She is still just as pretty as she was 30 years ago.
We are glad that Chuck Sullivan and his wife, Joy Sutton Sullivan, are back in Tulsa. Just hope they can stand this Oklahoma heat after living in Alaska all these years.
As Cheryl Schwartz noted: "I think we have some of the airlines covered with flight attendants from the class of '69." Brenda Summers - American; Kathy Loots - Delta, and herself with Braniff.
Most of our classmates remarked how much they like the web page. We are going to investigate the possibility of keeping the web page alive so everyone can keep in touch.
Betty Cornwell Crawford located and updated over 400 addresses of our classmates and created our new directory. We have a few left. So, if you need one, please send us $5.00 for S&H, and we will mail that out to you.
Keep sending in those cards and letters. We would love to keep everyone posted on what's happening.
We will be updating the MIA's as soon as all the data from the reunion is processed.
